Nicole Gross

My name is Nicole and I grew up in the foothills of Northern California. My love for nature began with long drives through the Sierra Nevadas to go camping, fishing, and hiking. Over time I began to appreciate the raw beauty and savage nature of the mountains. My appreciation would manifest into a love for all aspects of the natural world.

When I got my first camera at the age of 15, I immediately went outside to photograph birds, flowers, and fauna in our garden. My first cat, Juliet, was my other main muse. Since those fun, silly days I have picked up and put down a camera a dozen times or so. Despite eventually obtaining a Bachelor's degree in photography and videography from UC Davis, I felt imposter syndrome so strongly that I almost gave up on my dream of being a full-time photographer.

Something finally clicked for me when I moved halfway across the world. During my time in the UK, I had countless opportunities to explore abbey ruins, medieval castles, and local pubs. I ventured out into the wilderness of Wales and Scotland and I lounged on the beaches of Greece. Reflecting on these experiences led me to a deeper appreciation for the urban and natural world all over again.  I picked up my camera again in 2021 and never looked back.

Now, I want to share the world that I got to explore with you. I would love for you to join me as I reflect on my adventures. I hope that in sharing my view of the world, will inspire you to adventure outdoors, explore new ideas, and make some new friends along the way.
